IT'S HERE! October has finally arrived with the crisp air and Halloween decorations . It is simply the best month of the entire year and yes I am a white girl who loves yoga pants and Pumpkin Spice Lattes and there's no need to apologise for being a cliche!
Sweater Weather
Also October brings us Scenty's newest Seasonal Scentsation, Coconut Pumpkin Pie *insert Homer Simpson drool*
It promises pumpkin puree, nutmeg, maple sugar and coconut shavings and boy does it deliver. This is a fragrance for those of you out there who like your gourmand fragrances; your warm and rich and foody scents.
When I got my advance 6 pack of this bar in September, I got a terrible cold. (Thanks back to school!) I couldn't smell anything, but as my sense of smell came back and I started sending samples out, my nose action came back and it was glorious. This scent is STRONG. It is not for the faint of heart and it is syrupy and delicious. If you'd like to try it, please get in touch!

Why I Love October the Best or Coconut Pumpkin Pie Scentsy Exclusive
Thursday 14 July 2016
An Ode to Former Lovers OR How Will I Cope?
It's here. It's officially announced. It's the Discontinued List of Scentsy Spring/Summer products. The sting is slightly lessened because I've had a peek at the new Autumn/Winter catalog coming 1 September. But I'm still wondering how I will live without a few of these.
Let's just get it over with and see all that are going:
For those of you not able to read the tiny print, there's a list at the bottom of the post.
I'm going to run down the top 3 bars you need to stock up on before they are gone forever.
3. Mediterranean Spa
It's fresh, it's bright, but it's got some serious depth. Med Spa also has a serious cult following. I recommend it for people who like fresh and clean scents, but don't like things that smell like laundry. The bergamot really deepens this fragrance to something that's almost masculine. I also recommend it for people who like a scent that's going to last, yet not be overpowering. It's steady, it's strong, but not over-powering, and it cozy with those deeper notes. Mediterranean Spa, you will be missed. You've been in the catalog since day 1 and I can't imagine Scentsy without you.
2. Red Ginger Flower
Oh Red Ginge, I love you because you march to your own beat. You don't fall easily into any category. You're not a floral or a spice yet you have an enormous appeal. When I am stumped as to what someone likes, I pull out the Red Ginger Flower to wake up the nose. There are people who have latched onto this bar and won't use anything else. I'm here for you. Goodbye Ginge.
3. Candy Dandy
Ok, it's sweet. I mean, it's really sweet and the clue is in the title. However, it manages to be sweet without that sickly, syrupy ickiness we associate with a bar that's overly candied. Candy Dandy is light, but that doesn't mean that the scent isn't present. It was marketed as a Kid's Fragrance, but I'm going to admit that it is my personal favourite one going. I had the Scent Pak in my car and it felt like a cloud of confection when I would get in. I used it in my warmer in my lounge. I have no shame. I love it. I'm going to be squirrelling away a small hoarde of this one.

Calavera means skull in English or Dia de los Muertos decorating needs
Of all the warmers from the 2016 Spring/Summer Scentsy catalog, Calavera is a real contender for my favourite.
As a consultant, I run my business mostly with events and basket parties, more than home parties. I feel that's given me a really good insight into what people really like because I know what the general public is buying or even just eyeballing. And Calavera has been a far and away winner! Last week at Danson Park, I thought there was going to be a fight over the last one. He is absolutely beautiful, hand painted and truly unique for quirky decor for those of us who are just a little bit off center.
The lid comes off and is the top part of his skull and the wax dish sits inside. It's also a great warmer if you have children or furry children around as having the lid deters fingers and paws from poking int he wax.... Disclaimer: If anyone' paws or fingers DO find their way into the wax, they will not burn themselves! Scentsy warmers are cooler than the other brands out there we will not name!)
Contact me to get a Calavera. I know that you have someone in mind for whom this would be absolutely perfect. Or just order him now!
How can you resist that face?

Pink Tulips Exclusive Fragrance or Oh, Nevermind, just hurry up there's only so many spaces left!
MY WEBSITE TO SHOP OR PERUSE
Pink Tulips is the newest fragrance wax bar from Scentsy. It is an EXCLUSIVE summer fragrance and it is currently a LIMITED edition.
So the description leads me to believe it's a light floral with some sweeter fruity undertones. However, I have in my hot little hands some advance bars. It goes on sale 1 July. I very much feel like it's a cross between Pink Haze and Luna. Either way, I think you have to try it!
So to help you get a sample before you can buy it, I want to send one to you! FILL IN THIS FORM and then go stand outside and wait for your postman. Try and make some friends and pet some friendly dogs while you're waiting. There are limited samples, but at the moment I have many left that I want to go to a loving home. All I ask in return is that you fill in a review telling me what you think on my facebook business page. You can do that? I know you can!
I want to talk to you! Call me, maybe? 07875 744 536 karen.wickless@gmail.com

ArcelorMittal Orbital Day or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Slide
Even Scentsy Directors need some playtime. Working from home, my husband took the day off work and we had a daytime date to the Olympic Park this morning and we were among the very first (maybe 4th or 5th!?) to go down the slide on the Arcelor Mittal Orbital. I've been looking forward to this for weeks, but nothing prepared me for how massive the structure really is when I was standing at the bottom looking up. According to the helpful chart in the elevator, it's taller than the Statue of Liberty!
So let me back up. We got there at 10:20 and the slide opened at 10:30. It was easy enough to park in Westfield and then about a 10-15 minute walk over. it was very quiet this morning. It was also the morning after the EU referendum vote, maybe everyone was staying inside to argue about it on facebook?
You can't bring anything loose with you, and there are lockers at the bottom where you can stick your bag. Bring a £ to put in the slot! We got an email the previous evening telling us to wear long sleeves, but we were given elbow pads, so ditch your jacket if you get a locker.
You are elevated to the 1st platform. There is a 2nd platform that's at the very top for viewing and with your ticket you can take the lift back up after your journey down the chute. Picture taken through the grate on the upper viewing platform.
On the platform they kit you in the fetching elbow pads and helmet. I think it suits me.
They asked us to sign release forms to use our images for advertising. I agreed because I was feeling generous, though I should've given them my Scentsy website! (https://wicklesskaren.scentsy.co.uk in case you forgot!)
Very quickly, they got us into these mats. You put your feet in the bottom and lay down on the slide, then you pull yourself forward on a railing and they count down for you to push off. You can see here the first drop is very steep and exhilarating! You know straight away this is going to be something wild.
Though the entire slide is enclosed, some parts of it are plexiglass so you can see light nd some are completely dark. I thought the dark parts where the scariest because it was such a lights on/lights off moment.
After the first drop, there's a sharp bend and I banged my ankle and it's left it kinda sore. It was my good ankle too, boo! They tell you to go rigid, but you're going so fast I felt that keeping loose was a better plan. You know how when drunks fall they don't hurt themselves because they're so relaxed? I was going with that reasoning after ankle-bang.
The journey down is about 30-40 seconds long, which feels like a very long time. There are lots of surprising twists, but the sudden drops are what really makes this special. At the end, there is a very steep drop and I felt like there was no way I would stop when I left the slide, I was going so fast.
And just like that, it was over. I was laying on a slab of metal in the olympic park with a funny hat on and grinning like an idiot. I popped up and laughed, but I will admit my legs were a bit like jelly. And I really want to go do it again! I pretended to be super cool and then we got certificates with our names on.
It was a lot of thrill for £15 ticket. Would YOU go down the slide?
