How to Sell Scentsy at a Country Show or Why You Should Lay Down in a Field of Cows

This weekend, I packed my car and drove down to The New Forest Spring Show to sell my Scentsy wares. Doing big shows can be really daunting so luckily my fellow friend and Director in Southampton was able to put me up for a couple of nights and we did the show together.



It was a REALLY early morning! We split all sales, all customers and bring stock and just replace for whoever's stock sold more. It's a totally 50/50 split and it works very well and the company is invaluable. I find that as we get going talking to people, they really enjoy joining in with the banter. It becomes a fun experience for everyone and we aim to have a laugh.

And when it's been a long day and you're driving out of the New Forest, you find a field full of cows. So of course, I had to try that trick my husband has told me about a million times. He says if you lie down in a field with cows, they will all come over and stand around sniffing you. He was right!



So another fun weekend, with a friend I never would have met without Scentsy and sharing some lovely fragrances with brand new people. How is this not the best job in the entire world?!

Wax Wax Baby, or How I Gave up Candle Melts

I gotta admit that I was a product junkie going back a long time. I'd done the candles, and the tealights with the melts and I'd done the oils with the tealights and the plug-in air fresheners and the aerosol air fresheners and the weird battery operated scented shades smuggled from the USA. I'd tried all the scented home fragrancing options because none of them gave me exactly what I wanted.

But Scentsy... oh Scentsy.



Scentsy bars come in these delicious smelling bars formed of 8 cubes. All you do is break off a cube of wax, a bit like breaking off a square of Dairy Milk and throw it into the Scentsy warmer.



That one itty bitty cube of wax lasts for ages, the smell is stronger, the scent is more true because you aren't burning off the top notes of the fragrance. I ended up doing some small little events like charity days and pamper evenings and bringing my Scentsy kit along. It took me a few months, but I built up a small little customer base and when November came I was absolutely astonished at the sales. Planting those little seeds and learning the ropes earlier in the year, definitely gave me a leg up!

Scentsy Man in time for Father's Day!

Another sweet sweet sale and this one aligns very nicely with Father's Day. It is incredibly hard to find gifts for Dad. I know. It's either super expensive gadgets or another tie, tie-clip, golf thing. So boring too. I bet you never in a million, trillion years thought of giving Dad a scented candle for Father's Day, but I bet he would love it. And anyway, we've said before, we are soooo not candles. Here's my rundown of the fragrances:

Ace: Definitely unexpected: tangerine and lavender enrobed in dark chocolate and sweet, musky amber. This is that ruggedy man type smell, but still fresh with the citrus and lavender.

Echo: Sophisticated, metropolitan fragrance of manly spice notes, Mediterranean citrus and herbs, and bitter orange. Now, i wouldn't place this in the men's range totally. I think it's so herbal and has the spice and warmth of just a plain old "cozy home" type scent.

Hemingway: Rich, ripe apples and warm, woody accents of sandalwood and cedar with hints of spice. Gorgeous! Love this one and it's my Dad's personal favorite!

Route 66: A windswept drive in a convertible — an exhilarating breeze of citrus, herbs, and musk. This is your fresh outdoors scent. This is for the fresh cut grass lovers. If you have been bored of your other scents lately, this one will mix things up!

Weathered Leather: Step into an old-fashioned saddle shop brimming with dark suede, tooled leather, and vintage saddles over a backdrop of oak. I'm not going to sugar-coat this. It smells just like sniffing an old leather jacket. I would never warm this in my own house, but you know who has purchased this one from me? Motorcyclists. It's hardcore leather.

Just because these bars are 40% off, does not mean that they are any less potent than you are used to! You are still getting the full 80-120 hours out of each and every bar. In fact, the heavier scents are the ones that tend to last longer.
